There Are More Of Us Than You Think!
In 1998, seven women in the Boerne area joined together to form the Cibolo Democratic Women. The group was dedicated to promoting “the increased political activity and influence of Democratic women in Texas politics and government.” In 1999, the name changed to the Kendall County Area Democratic Women and became a political action committee. In the ensuing twenty years, the group was active in local, state, and national politics. In the fall of 2017, the name changed again to the Boerne Area Democrats. This name better reflects the diverse membership of women and men from the Boerne area and the surrounding counties. We are now a thriving group with membership over 165 people and a distribution list of 500-plus. We invite anyone interested in democratic ideals to join us!
The Boerne Area Democrats (B.A.D.) meet at 12:00 pm (6:00 pm in June and September) on the second Thursday of the month at the Longhorn Café, 369 S. Esser Road in Boerne, where we conduct club business, listen to informative and timely speakers, and enjoy the camaraderie of other democrats, progressives & like-minded thinkers who care about local, state and national issues. If you would like to eat during the meeting, you order ahead of time by calling (830) 331-4011 or you can order online at https://longhorncafe.alohaorderonline.com/. Please be sure to pick up your order and be upstairs at the meeting before it begins.
We believe everyone can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
