There Are More Of Us Than You Think!

In 1998, seven women in the Boerne area joined together to form the Cibolo Democratic Women. The group was dedicated to promoting “the increased political activity and influence of Democratic women in Texas politics and government.” In 1999, the name changed to the Kendall County Area Democratic Women and became a political action committee. In the ensuing twenty years, the group was active in local, state, and national politics. In the fall of 2017, the name changed again to the Boerne Area Democrats. This name better reflects the diverse membership of women and men from the Boerne area and the surrounding counties. We are now a thriving group with membership over 165 people and a distribution list of 500-plus. We invite anyone interested in democratic ideals to join us!

          Currently, the Boerne Area Democrats (B.A.D.) meet via ZOOM monthly meetings  on the second Thursday. During these meetings we conduct club business, listen to informative and timely speakers, and enjoy the camaraderie of other democrats, progressives & like-minded thinkers who care about local, state and national issues.

Help the Boerne Area Democrats continue to grow and do good works by becoming a monthly donor.  By developing a steady stream of income, the club can continue to support candidates, local social service organizations, and scholarships for public high school students. If we can reach our goal of at least 50 recurring donors, that will eliminate the need for an annual fundraiser! No amount is too small - or too large - so please consider becoming a monthly donor!

Our Mission

The Mission of the Boerne Area Democrats:

To inspire, inform, and involve like-minded individuals in an inclusive community to grow in political awareness and activism while promoting democratic ideals.

To achieve our mission, the Boerne Area Democrats:

  • promote increased representation of Democrats in Party and government institutions;

  • promote the increased political activity and influence of Democrats in Texas politics and government;

  • provide support for democrats working in Democratic Party organizations and campaigns, and for those seeking Party or public office; and

  • promote legislative, executive and judicial policy which enhances equitable representation of all persons in Democratic Party and governmental affairs.

We are growing quickly and want everyone to know that Democrats are alive, well, and on the move in Boerne and other towns in the surrounding counties in the Texas Hill Country.  Wherever you live, you are welcome to join us!

Kendall County Democratic Party

The Boerne Area Democrats work closely with the Kendall County Democratic Party to grow the party, nurture and elect Democratic candidates for office.
